Abstract
Brunner gland adenoma is also called Brunner gland hamartoma and Brunner gland hyperplasia, and it is a rare disease that accounts for only 10% of benign duodenal tumors. It is usually found in a duodenal bulb and only rarely in the jejunum and proximal ileum. The clinical manifestations are nonspecific gastrointestinal complaints such as bloating or epigastric pain, and the tumor often gives rise to hemorrhage or intestinal obstruction. It is a benign lesion but rarely undergoes malignant transformation. Either endoscopic or surgical removal of the mass should be performed. Here, we report two cases of Brunner gland adenoma acompanied with gastrointestinal hemorrhage. In one case, Huge mass was detected, so at first we mistook it malignancy. In the other case, Vital sign was unstable due to recurrent gastrointestinal hemorrhage. Both cases were discovered by an esophagogastroduodenoscopy and treated successfully by surgical removal. Resection of the tumors revealed that they were Brunner gland adenoma on a histological examination.
